A thought on "Helping the economy" vs. "Contributing to society"

“Helping the economy” is not the same as “contributing to society” in an Capitalist economy. By “helping the economy” they are enabling the exploitation of workers and resources. When you work to produce a good or service you are providing something that can satisfy a need or want, therefore contributing to society. Sitting on your but all day and only consuming is not helping anyone.
